Refraction
Prism In Motion
Refraction is spring grasses and budding florals bending light through a glass prism. Yuzu and bergamot arrive first, guiding the light before it bends. Galbanum and the snap of cut stems then open into cool green planes, dense and translucent, with mastic oil and a waxy aldehydic shimmer sharpening the angles.
Through the prism, color begins to emerge. Magnolia unfurls in soft white, clary sage holds a dry herbal gold, and a thread of cool violet pulls through the sharp greens. The air just above the dew-covered ground carries budding florals through transparent glass.
Below, vetiver and cabreuva wood gather the mineral light, while the crystalline white musks root the movement through glass. What remains is not the light itself, but the impression it leaves passing through. Capturing the moment of transformation, when clarity energizes possibility.
The Light Behind the Scent
Light refraction is the 'bending' of light. Traveling in a straight line through air, light bends the moment it enters another transparent medium such as glass, water, or a prism, slowing and separating into distinct wavelengths. This shift reveals light as new patterns and colors — an altered perception shaped by movement and matter.
